Who I Am

My passion is breathing life into the spaces of your home.

Growing up, anytime my mom drove by an empty house being built, we pulled over to check it out. Walking through the house together, she would ask me what room I thought each one was by what utilities were in the room and the layouts. My imagination would run wild with what finishes would be put on the inside, where the furniture would sit, and all the memories that would be made between Christmas and summer birthday parties.

This is where my love for residential construction began. To this day, anytime I smell fresh cut lumber or drywall mud, it takes me back to those sweet memories with my mom.

After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Civil Engineering, I worked for a commercial general contractor for five years and got to travel all over eastern America. During that time, I primarily built high end office spaces for corporations.

Craving more in life, my husband and I decided to risk our savings and flip and a cabin in the Shenandoah mountains of Virginia. This is what re-instilled my true love for residential construction & interiors. With Danish blood running thick in my veins, I naturally have a deep rooted love for cozy spaces and making a house a home.

Leaving the commercial construction world, I bring with me high organization and communication skills along with years of technical knowledge.

It is Birch Acres’ goal to bring a new kind of general contractor to the residential market. We want to form long lasting relationships with homeowners as your home changes over the years through its functionality and style.

Browse around and see what inspiration you get for you home. Feel free to give me a call even if you’d just like to throw around design ideas. I can’t wait to see what we can create together.
